Quite different from the simple blade of grass, the hundreds of years old oak can be seen as a corporation.
For example: It employs many specialized insects and forms almost its own society. In real economic life, this could be a group like Coca-Cola or Siemens, which also call itself a “Siemensian”.
Its roots reach deep into the soil and both society and oak are interdependent.
Other companies, such as mushrooms and lichens, also need exactly this type of corporations in order to live in coexistence with you.
Losing the oak would change everything in the long term. This can be real (=smashing a company) or must be prevented (=”to big to fail”).
The next article is about a type of company that has become more prominent in recent years: the startup.
